The data cutoff is each Tuesday at 8 a.m. EDT. The maps which are based on analysis of data, are released each Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. The U.S. Drought Map is produced through a partnership between the National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, The United States Department of Agriculture, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
